ISP works to minimize expenses. Tuition for our students — and possibly room, board, and other school-related fees — will be waived by participating universities and colleges. All other expenses will be raised by local support groups in partnership with ISP. ISP's operating costs are limited to salaries for two staff (a US Coordinator and a Middle East Coordinator), as well as office, travel and communications expenses. We also need funds to pay for language testing and visa applications for students who cannot afford them.
Tax-exempt contributions can be sent by check or money order, made out to:

In addition, perhaps you. . .
- have a relationship with a college or university as a student, staff, or faculty member, or you know people at your alma mater. You could help ISP work with the administration to obtain one or more tuition waivers for Iraqi students in need.
- will take the lead in forming a support group for the students attending a nearby college or university.
- might join such a support group (all kinds of support needed: with housing, meals, health, books, everyday expenses, contact with family in Iraq, language, culture, exploring the surrounding area, finding friends, adjusting to a very different environment).
- will offer to be a financial sponsor for an Iraqi student. This might involve taking back-up responsibility for a student's needs, vouching for the student on forms the university prepares so that the US government, in considering the visa application, is satisfied that the student has resources that can be drawn on if they are ever needed.
